A good portion of Campbell Avenue in Troy has been closed since February. This is due to the flooding that happened last year from Tropical Storm Irene. It was first closed back in January, 2012, but then reopened.

It made the soil very weak. A sewer main broke, and as crews started to repair it, they found some very badly damaged utilities, part of the infrastructure, and an unsafe slope.

In a story that I saw on News 10 ABC, the road is actually opening earlier than scheduled. It wa supposed to open sometime in July, 2012. FEMA is going to provide a large portion of the money for this project.

There will still be some minor repairs to be made, and the plan is to have everything finished sometime in September, 2012. I’ll bet there'll be a lot of happy travelers that use the road and residents that live in the area.
