1997- Trace Adkins marries his wife Rhonda at Nashville's Belle Meade Mansion. Trace sings his self composed hit 'The Rest Of Mine.'
1993- Brooks and Dunn get honors for Vocal Duet, Album and Single of the Year for 'Boot Scootin' Boogie' at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Garth Brooks claims Entertainer of the Year, while Vince Gill is Male Vocalist, and Mary Chapin Carpenter is Female Vocalist. On the same night, George Jones receives the Pioneer Award.
1991- George Strait is at No. 1 with 'If I Know Me.'
Birthdays
Mark Herndon, 1955. Mark joins the already formed Alabama in 1979. Although he plays drums at all of their live shows, he is rarely used on their studio recordings. Mark was later sued by the other three members of the group for overpayment of merchandise sales.
