Natural gas has caused a house explosion in Schenctady. In addition to leveling the one house, at least two other are on fire. In a story from News 10 ABC and the Daily Gazette, occupants of the house were evacuated before the blast. This happened about 3:45 p.m., Wednesday afternoon.

The explosion could be heard in the north end of the city and flames shot up about three stories above the surrounding structures. At this time, there’s no information on what caused the gas leak.

There are also reports of some pets may have died in the explosion.
