When country music fans think of Brantley Gilbert, they may think of his tattoos, country-rock mix and bad boy persona. However, Gilbert admits that there are several personal songs on his new record 'Just As I Am' that show his softer side.

The 'Bottoms Up' hitmaker says that his more heartfelt songs actually aren't more difficult for him to write. He explains, "You kinda wear your emotions on your sleeve and just kind of copy and paste 'em."

Adds the singer, "There's a song called 'My Faith' that's kind of my spiritual song on my record. It's a little bit of my softer side of me, comin' out of let field a little bit."

Even though Gilbert has a bad boy image in country music, he's definitely letting his heart hang loose in 'Just As I Am.'

However, he shows off his rowdy and tough-as-nails side when asked about any rules on his tour bus. There's one: "Don't feed my dog; I'll beat the hell out of you."

BG Nation fans can catch these songs and more when Gilbert plays at the Taste of Country Festival taking place June 13-15 at Hunter Mountain in New York.
