These guys are partying. I think they heard the news that their sponsor Dish Network just bought Blockbuster in a fire sale after Blockbuster entered bankruptcy protection. What does it mean?

I'm actually a Dish Network customer and I don't even know what it means. However if I were a betting man I would guess that it means I will be able to cancel my Netflix subscription sometime soon. If you own Blockbuster that means you own their library of movies really cheap on a channel for a monthly rate and get unlimited movies. Blockbuster also had an online component like Netflix so movies via the net just like Netflix may have the ability to let you watch online or on TV. Here's the whole story from MSN Money.

I guess we will all find out what it will mean in due time. I will say this, if they do get into the movie business with a monthly pay-per-view channel the fist movie I rent will be "Caddyshack". The first movie I played in my old VCR, my first DVD player and my first Netflix rental was "Caddyshack". Old habits are heard to break, even with new technology. "Caddyshack" is the best movie ever!
