2008- Steel guitarist Don Helms dies. Helms was best known as the steel guitar player in Hank Williams' Drifting Cowboys Band. In addtiion, he played on over 100 Hank Williams recordings, and 'Walkin' After Midnight' for Patsy Cline.
2005- Steve Earle and Allison Moorer are married in Nashville. It's his seventh wedding, and her second.
2001- Blake Shelton lands his first No. 1 single in Billboard with 'Austin.' Blake's debut hit remains at the top for five weeks.
