Blake Shelton is used to being the judge in the chair, giving tips on up-and-coming artist performances on The Voicebut he switched roles Tuesday night (Dec. 6). While he didn't quite get a critique from the contestants from this season, he did show them what a true performer does when he hits the stage.

Performing his new single "A Guy With a Girl," Shelton exuded confidence throughout as fellow coaches Miley Cyrus and Adam Levine looked on in approval. Shelton worked the audience as he walked down the stage stairs to a smaller stage in front of them, frequently shaking hands and pointing at fans.

"This has been an amazing year, and what a thrill to be closing it out with our first TV performance of ‘A Guy With A Girl’ on The Voice," Shelton said in a press release announcing the performance. "There’s no better job in the world than being a country music singer and I can’t thank my fans enough for all of their love and support!"

"A Guy With a Girl" is Shelton's latest single, written by Ashley Gorley and Bryan Simpson. The song comes from his 2016 album If I'm Honest. Fans will get to see the singer perform the song live when he hits the road for his Doin' It to Country Songs tour next year. The singer has announced 13 dates so far for the 2017 tour. RaeLynn is set to join him for each show.

Shelton also saw one of his Team Blake members go into the finals on The Voice on Tuesday night. Sundance Head will represent country in the finals, and former country child star Billy Gilman made the cut, too, for Team Adam. They'll face off with We McDonald and Josh Gallagher in the finals beginning Monday night (Dec. 12).
