Many stars making my Taste of Country Music News today.  The remake of “Footloose” is coming out in theaters October 14th, but the soundtrack is out today.  Features 12-tracks including the title track, “Footloose” sung by the man, Blake Shelton.  You can also catch Zac Brown, Whitney Duncan, Big & Rich (featuring Gretchen Wilson) and newcomer Hunter Hayes to the soundtrack.  The movie of course stars Julianne Hough along with Dennis Quaid and professional dancer Kenny Wormald.

Besides helping out with that soundtrack, Zac Brown might be getting his own cooking show, according to the AP.  The band is known for their pre-concert “eat and greets.”  That’s where they pull 200 fans back stage and give them a private southern spread.  You probably would never guess this, but everything on that buffet is an original Zac Brown recipe, cooked right in his 53-foot tractor trailer.   Zac is a former restaurant owner and has his own cookbook, “Southern Ground,” so if nothing has been finalized, its not far from happening.

The Country Music Hall of Fame is opening up a new exhibit next year.  Its actually going to focus on the Bakersfield Sound Merle Haggard and Buck Owens made so popular.  Dwight Yoakam will narrate the exhibit (my personal fav).  The exhibit won’t open until March 24th, but will be on display until December 31st, 2013.

Carrie Underwood working on a new album.  I’d say she’s pretty due for one since her last album, “Play On” came out in 2009 and “Carnival Ride” was in 2007.  If you’re part of Carrie’s fan club then you know she is already working on the fourth album, but is in no rush to get it out.

Here's what Carrie said about her progress:

And Rodney Atkins is spending week number two with his No.1 hit, “Take a Back Road.”  Coming in at No. 2 is Toby Keith, “Made in America,” Keith Urban safely at No. 3 with “Long Hot Summer,” Kenny Chesney with Grace Potter and “You And Tequila” are at No. 4, and Jake Owen’s “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” rounds out the top 5.
