We have come to the end of another week and that means time to check out a great country video from the past with this week's edition of Flashback Friday.

It's Memorial Day weekend so I felt the need to feature a song that shows the real meaning of the holiday. It's not  about having parties and barbecues, it's about remembering those who died helping us defend our great country. We go back to 1992 with Billy Ray Cyrus' "Some Gave All".

From the 1992 album of the same name ,the song was actually never released as a single but it did  hit #52 on the Billboard charts due to unsolicited airplay. You are guaranteed to hear this song every Memorial day on WGNA to help celebrate the lives of many American heroes.

Billy Ray is releasing a new patriotic album June 28th called "I'm American" which features a re-recording of the song featuring Jamey Johnson, Craig Morgan and Darryl Worley. I am really looking forward to hearing that!

I hope you enjoyed this blast from the past and be sure to check out another next week here on wgna.com. I also hope everybody has a great Memorial Day weekend and never forget what this holiday is all about.
