A 13-year-old Troy teen on a bicycle was doing a little more than riding for exercise, according to police.

It was learned that the boy was allegedly stealing things. According to a press release from The East Greenbush Police Department, this happened on Sept. 11.

After he left the scene on the bicycle, The East Greenbush Police got a description of the boy by some witnesses who saw what he allegedly did. The information was broadcasted to to neighboring police agencies. North Greenbush Police officers saw him peddling on Troy Road and intercepted him. The stolen property was then recovered.

The teen was released to the custody of his stepfather and both are going to appear in Rensselaer County Probation Department on Sept. 18.
