Richie Phillips posted a story recently about Rolling Stone magazine's picks for the best country albums of 2012. I will admit they are some decent picks and certainly deserve to have a listen. I thought I would do the same and pick out my favorite country albums that came out sometime this year.

This is by far the best album to come out in awhile. I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy before it officially came out and hasn't left my car's CD player since. Great ballads and country rockers including the great collaboration with Luke Bryan and Eric Church "The Only Way I Know"

With a title like "Hope On The Rocks", you can guarantee a lot of drinking songs and that is exactly what you get. I've always been a big Toby fan is this is certainly one of his best efforts yet.

After seeing Lee Brice in concert a couple of times I became a big fan. This album upped the fandom more with so many incredibly written songs like his new single "I Drive Your Truck". As a guy who loves an ice cold brew now and then I also love the song "Beer"

I am a die hard member of the Freak Parade and was so glad these guys released another album. These guys know how to have a good time with great party songs like "Party Like Cowboyz".

This was also on Rolling Stone's list, and I agree. Lionel isn't a country artist but this album has country stars joining him on his all time classic tunes. I always enjoyed Lionel's music and they get even better "countrified"

There was a lot of great music to come out in 2012 and I can't wait to see what 2013 has in store. What are your favorite albums of this past year?
