On Monday, the Baltimore Ravens indefinitely suspended Ray Rice after video footage came out that showed him punching his fiancee.

Do you feel that members of professional sports teams should be banned for life from the league for infringements like the one committed by former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice?

The NFL, according to NFL Analyst Chris Carter speaking on the Mike and Mike Show, claims that the first time they saw the video tape of the incident above was yesterday (Sept. 8). Immediately afterward, Rice’s contract was terminated by the Ravens and he was suspended indefinitely by the National Football League.

Rice was initially punished by the league after the video from the February incident was released, and then on Aug. 28, the NFL announced that any player involved with domestic abuse would be suspended a total of 6 games.

With Rice’s initial suspension, the statement about future domestic abuse cases, and then Rice being suspended indefinitely, marks the third change by the NFL on this policy.
