If you were listening to the show early this morning we talked about this story. A 14 year old girl for some reason decided to Tweet to American Airlines a fake terrorist threat. The girl, Sarah wrote, "My name's Ibrahim and I'm from Afghanistan. I'm part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I'm gonna do something really big. Bye." Why she thought that this was OK to post to the airline , no one knows at this point but American Airlines did not find any humor in it.
I love golf , I'm not that good at it but I do love playing and I love watching "The Masters" every year, it truly is a right of passage for Spring. I have always thought as I'm sure some of you have that if they had a world class tournament for "Mini" golf I just could win that bad boy. Now thanks to some very creative editor I realize that these professionals would probably enter and win that too.
This is some really great news. When David Letterman announced just a week ago that he would indeed be retiring and stepping down from "The Late Show" the rumors and conjecture about who might take his slot began. Of all the names that were thrown around, Stephen Colbert came up the most, and now we know why.
Do you love Tulip fest? Who doesn't right? It has long been one of Albany N.Y.'s greatest traditions. The beautiful weather, the colors throughout the park, the people, the music and food and of course the Tulip Queen. Albany will be celebrating it's 66th annual Tulip festival this May 10th and 11th. While that seems like a long time away, it is never too early to get excited, or prepared.
Finally, my favorite time of year has arrived, SPRING. I know technically Spring has been here for a while but besides the weather feeling very spring like, there has been one very important factor missing, GOLF! If you love the game like I do you may have been getting the same question as I have lately, "Hey, when is Stadium going to open?" That of course is always the question because Stadium always seems to be the first to be up and running because of the incredible drainage of the course. Well the answer is NOW.

WOW, I am so excited to hear that Eric Church has Dwight Yoakam going out on tour with him. I have always thought that Eric Church was awesome but this move solidifies it for me. It's interesting though , I hadn't really thought about it before now but now I can totally see the similarities between these two artists.
Hard to believe it's been 10 years since we first came up with the idea to start "Blue Friday". I have to tell you of all the things I have been a part of in my radio career this event has always been one that I have been the most proud of. Something that started as just an idea to honor the fallen police officers in our area as well as those who currently serve has grown into an organization of it's own, "Blue Friday Of New York", and a N.Y.S. recognized holiday. I am amazed every year at the support and generosity that our WGNA listeners give to this event. I hope that this year is no exception.
What do you even say anymore? Are you shocked? Outraged? Probably not. I guess now that Louisiana Congressman Vance McAllister has been caught on video making out with his long time staffer, who is also married, the cycle of apologies, prayers, forgiveness and re-election can begin.
You gotta love kids! Listen learning the ins and outs and subtle nuances of the English language can indeed be difficult. I know for a fact, that both myself when I was young and my youngest child could not say the word "truck" without the adults around laughing and trying to make us say, "Fire Truck" over and over." Truth be told however, how many times does the word "truck" come up a day? Now, "Thank you" is something we try to teach our children early in life and want them to say it often. Maybe not so much a good idea with this kid however.
Did you get a chance to catch the ACM Awards last night? Well, if you didn't you missed some pretty good stuff and some pretty awkward moments too. When I first began thinking of writing about the show I was going to go with an article about the awkward moments, perhaps even let you rank them from "worst" to "no this was ever worse than that". I then thought, "No lets try to keep it positive Sean" and I will.
