CountryFest 2012 is in the books and it was a rockin' party for sure. I loved getting to mingle with many of you at the free outdoor street party listening to some great local talent as well as newcomer Dustin Lynch. Indoors was rockin' as well as Josh Thompson, Thompson Square, Joe Nichols and of course Eric Church ripped the roof off the Times Union Center.
It's friday and it's the day before CountryFest 2012 so for today's musical flashback I thought I would break out a great tune and video from one of our past CountryFest performers. This week we go back to 1996 for a big hit from CountryFest 1997 performer Deana Carter, "We Danced Anyway".
I had a great time last night at the New York State Plaza with the 4th of July Celebration. Lots of great music from classic rock to country, lots of great food and of course the fireworks.
The 2012 Olympic Summer games are less than a month away in London. I have always enjoyed watching the games and rooting on the good ol' USA. Doesn't matter the event I enjoy it all. Heck, I will even watch Soccer if the United States has a chance!
We are less than a week away from the biggest party of the summer, Countryfest 2012 is this Saturday (7/9). We've got a great lineup that includes Headliner Eric Church, Joe Nichols, Thompson Square and Josh Thompson. Can't forget the free outdoor portion of the show that has many great local bands as well as rising star Dustin Lynch.
Once again we have come to the end of another week, so that means it's time to break out another great country song and video from the past with this week's edition of Flashback Friday. This Sunday is Canada Day for our neighbors up North, so I thought it would be quite appropriate to break out a song from one of my favorite Canadian Country singers Shania Twain. We go back to 1993 for Shania's very first single "What Made You Say That".
I consider myself a red blooded American who has lots of pride for my country. As Eric Church would say, "I cover my heart with my hat when they fly that Red, White and Blue". But I can certainly appreciate other countries too, especially our neighbors to the North
Brad Paisley brings his "Virtual Reality Tour" to SPAC this Friday and I must say I am really looking forward to it. I have seen Brad every time he has come to the area and his shows get better and better every tour. I guess you can say I am a big Brad Paisley fan and hope to hear some of my favorite songs on Friday.
Over the last few years I have become a bit of a social media junkie.
Last night was absolutely amazing at Vapor for the finals of the Country Idol Karaoke Contest. The place was packed as an estimated 1,000 people filled the nightclub cheering on their favorite singers.
Wrapping up another week means it's time to break out another great song and video from the past with this week's edition of Flashback Friday. This week I decided to break out a one hit wonder that you may have forgotten about. We go back to 1991 for the Top 10 Hit for Ray Kennedy "What A Way To Go".
Today (6/21) is the first full day of summer and it's a hot one indeed. Much like yesterday, Highs will be up to 95 with the heat index making it feel even hotter.
