I am a big fan of the holidays. I love getting together with family on Thanksgiving eating turkey and watching football. I absolutely love Christmas as well. It is my favorite time of the year. One thing I am not a fan of is Black Friday. I never go out of my way for the deals, it just gets too crazy for me and would rather shop on my own time than get up at some crazy hour to maybe get a deal if the item is still there.
I recently saw an article about some of the latest toys to be inducted into the National Toy Hall Of Fame. This year's inductees were Star Wars action Figures and Dominoes. I had many Stars Wars action figures and other accessories as a child so I got to thinking about some of my favorites that I used to have when I was just a little Scottie B.
Keith Burns was one of the founding members of the trio known as Trick Pony and today he celebrates his 49th birthday. How bout we celebrate by breaking out a Trick Pony hit for Flashback Friday? This week we go back to 2001 for the top 5 hit "On A Night Like This".
Growing up, one of my favorite movies of all time was The Princess Bride. The sound of it seems like a girly movie but it truly does have something for everyone. Drama, Comedy, Action and Romance. It's a truly great movie.
Apparently the guys on NFL Live on ESPN are big fans of the movie as well. For some reason hosts Trey Wingo, Mark Schlereth and Tedy Bruschi decided to quote and make references to the film throughout a recent installment of the show. If you are a fan of the movie like I am, you will get a chuckle out of this.
Lonestar is back with original lead singer Richie McDonald and they are playing Upstate Concert Hall tonight for a big reunion show. I've been a fan of these guys since day one back in the 90's and I am glad they are back. So many great songs and we all have our favorites and here are a few of mine!
Yesterday in the next to last race of the season at Phoenix International Raceway , Brad Keselowski would take over the points lead in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Standings thanks to Jimmie Johnson's unfortunate bad luck as he smacked the wall late in the race causing him to finish 32nd. Keselowski now has a 20 point lead in the standings as we head to the last race of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Another week is in the books and that means it's time to break out another great country song and video from the past with this week's edition of Flashback Friday. This week we go back about 20 years for Tracy Byrd's first big hit "Holdin' Heaven".
Yesterday we all had the opportunity to go out and vote for who would become the President Of The United States. There was a lot of serious back and forth bantering going on in my news feed on Facebook and on my Twitter last night. That's one of the reasons right there that I don't really get very political. I am not much for arguing with people. Now that it's all over lets get rid of some of that hostility and have a laugh. I caught this video of numerous Presidents and Vice Presidents from the past as well as our current President goofing up during speeches, falling down and other various fails.
About a month or so ago I posted a video of a soldier surprising his family at a South Carolina Game. These sorts of feel good videos warm my heart as I am a big supporter of our military and know what they have to go through.
There is nothing cuter than a baby! It's hard not to smile you see a small child. It's also hard not to laugh when little ones are featured in videos and special effects are used to have them kick some heavy duty booty.
We've come to the end of another week so it's time once again to head into the musical time machine and remember a great country song and video from the past. This week we go to the end of the 1990's for a top 10 hit from Yankee Grey "All Things Considered"
