It was a rough morning for me. Like any rainy morning it was tough to get out of bed and about 15 minutes after dragging my butt out of said bed I realized I should of stayed in it, because around then I was locked in MORTAL COMBAT with the NINJA SPIDER!

While showering I noticed the little guy behind me in the tub and even though I underestimated him I feel I won our epic battle when he circled the tub drain. Sadly I did not escape uninjured. My side and pride were badly bruised. Listen to the story from today’s Sean and Richie Show.

We visited the second graders taught by Mrs. Gardner, Mrs. McEvoy, and Mrs. Bartosik. All of the kids were great! Alvah, Avarie, Ben, Kara, Jamie,  Tanner, Lindsey, Tucker, Andrey, Karli, William, Baylee, Josh, Brady, Anthony, Allison, Miles, Michael, and Allysson all did a great job for us!

Your Town Thursday is on a Friday this week – we’re in Hoosick Falls LIVE at the Falls Diner and we debuted the theme song for the Village of Hoosick Falls live on the air. Check out the audio and they lyrics to the song after the jump. 

Hoosick Falls is a small town just before you get to Vermont full of some great people. We were very thankful for the Falls Diner hosting us for the morning and even more excited to debut our fresh new song for the town.

Well it was hard rhymin’ all this information ,but it sure was fun

It’s a place you associate with Grandma Moses, and the Battle of Bennington

Not true in fact it was actually fought in Walloomsac

Once a year I hear all the businesses in town they all close down

and go to the Carrier Dome to watch their team play ball

This is a place called Hoosick – Hoosick Falls

Pizza Bella, Big Moose Deli and Weebs Fish Fry , they’re all in town

(and to bring food in -we shop at the “Union”),

The town’s iconic but ironically the Falls are nowhere to be found

(and this is pretty neat, there’s no churches on Church Street)

and the folks here aren’t ashamed of their rather odd nicknames

like Coggy, Squeaky, Snooky, Wiggy, Slug and Admiral,

Buggers, Pockets, Toots and Wingnut live in Hoosick Falls

They’ve got a real cool  community pool, tennis courts and skating rink

(and a Senior Center, noone treats them better)

Don’t need to drive far to Ferrara’s and the Sandbar

where you can have your favorite drink

they’ve got it all, this is a place called Hoosick -Falls

Every summer they go to the park Gazebo to hear the community band

You know Wayne Trimm, you might not know him

the greatest wildlife painter in the land

and the Eberle Brothers, they are all from Hoosick Falls

No matter what the weather, they all stick together -this is Hoosick Falls

We were lucky to be joined on-air by mayor Monahan while the Sean & Richie Show was live on location at the Falls Diner in Hoosick Falls, all part of our Small Town Tour. Check out what the mayor had to say after the jump.

Hoosick Falls ia a great small town. Matt is very young – and the morning show had a great time with the Mayor. He’s very proud of Hoosick Falls, and grew up in the town. The previous mayor was in office for 26 years. Sean asked what the hardest part of being mayor is – and Mayor Monahan said it’s because it’s a part time job and should be full. Very true. Love this stuff.  I’m in heaven every day when I’m surrounded by this stuff, but then again, that’s just me.  Love the tech.  Come on – work with me here.  There are so many technological innovations that will brighten up your lives.  I had the chance to explain these exciting inventions to the guys this morning.

On today’s Sean and Richie show Sean told us the story of a British woman Violet D’mello of Aberdeen, Scotland. Violet was in a pen with some Cheetahs who were raised in captivity from birth and were supposed to be safe to pet.  Her husband Archie was outside the pen taking photos. For some reason the Cheetahs snapped and went into attack mode. Violet used herself to shield the children and Archie just kept taking pictures. Listen to the debate that breaks out when Richie says he would of done the same thing.

I am putting my butt out on a limb and saying that Jon Pardi will be a force in country music very fast. He records for Capitol Records Nashville and when I first heard his music I went “wow”! That doesn’t happen a lot. He is “COUNTRY” and that’s what I like the most. Jon Pardi can play, sing and relate to the lives of people who love country music. One call that I got from her not too long ago, she told me that the doctors found out that she had a cancer. This call was a much happier call. She told us that she is now clear of cancer.

I’m Gonna Love You Through It by Matina McBride was a great choice for the song that she wanted.

Rexford is a little hamlet outside of the “CP’ (Clifton Park to you and me).  I knew very little about it except that it has a bridge that’s literally a traffic nitemare most days.

Is the term secretary back in our vocabulary?  According to Forbes.com They say it might have to with the huge popularity of the show Mad Men, which is a throwback to the working world of the advertising business  in the 1960′s.  Of course those were the days where secretarial sexual harassment was king, so you would think that there would be a huge backlash against it today to even remind women of such a time, but it seems to have had the opposite effect ,oddly enough.

Well, I wanted to do a little bitty ditty for you hard working folks, no matter what you call yourselves.  This is a parody of Alan Jackson’s “Little Bitty”, by the way.

So I’ll leave you with a question.  It’s basically the question I had at the end of the song.  Are you upset being called “secretary?” Is it demeaning or are you OK with it.  Please leave your thoughts in the comment section, and I’ll get our secretary..I mean administrative professional from the station to put them all together on one page.   (In other words, ME!)

Today we had a contest to win a four pack of tickets to the advance screening of “The Avengers”. So of course we broke out everyone’s favorite Red Neck Theater. Today all three of the guys played a part in the recreation of a classic scene from “Animal House”. For those of you that don’t know “Animal House” was “Old School” before there was a “Old School”.

Tonight is the night. Andy Gibson will be on the stage of the GE Theater in Proctors with 1077 ‘GNA. Showtime is 7:30pm. Andy paid us a visit in the GNA studios earlier today on his way to Proctors for a sound check. He performed “Don’t You Wanna Stay” which he wrote. The song was a multiple week #1 hit for Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson. Andy is an extremely talented singer and writer and is currently riding up the charts with his hit “Wanna Make You Love Me.” Tickets are just $17 and will be available at the door.
