Arizona Shooting Suspect Was Troubled

The suspect in the Arizona shootings that killed 6 was described by friends and college classmates as "paranoid" and an "outcast".

When many of these people heard it was Jared Loughner that was behind the shootings of Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords they weren't shocked. If these people witnessed this type of behavior and sensed there were problems with this young man why didn't just one of them pick up a phone and alert authorites that this guy had the potential to be a loose cannon?
