Country Idol 2013 is heading into the final stretch. WGNA and Vapor's annual talent search for the best country singer in the Northeast will award $5,000 to the best of the best on June 20, 2013.

Guest judges Jay Yager of the Audiostars, Marian Carter from WGNA, and Harold Ford from the Spirit of Johnny Cash show led us through a great night of fun entertainment and country dancing. Ford's performance of the cash classics 'A Boy Named Sue' and 'Cocaine Blues' were one of the highlights of the night, along with the popular line dances to '1994 (Teach Me How To Diffie)' and 'Boys 'Round Here.'

The Top 5 Country Idol contestants from April include:

Laurie Langan of Saratoga

Amanda Kelly of Watervliet (pictured below)

Mark Luther of Stillwater

Alicia Turkington of Sandisfield, Mass.

Corky Dorr of Mechanicville (pictured above)

The top 5 contestants of each month are invited back on June 20, 2013 for the Country Idol finals. On that night, the top 5 scoring singers from all of our finalists will sing a second song. The highest scoring finalist from the second song wins the $5,000!

A rotating panel of judges rate performers up to 10 points on appearance, 15 points on stage presence, and 25 points on vocals.
