An Albany Area Traffic Stop Leads To Lots Of Pot

A 52-year-old Albany was driving on I-90 on Thursday night around 10:00 p.m. when he was stopped by New York State Police.

Troopers conducted a search of the car. They allegedly found some marijuana in William D. Smullen’s car – 23 pounds of pot. They arrested Smullen and charged him with a felony - Criminal Possession Of Marijuana in the first degree. According to the story from News 10 ABC, Smullen was arraigned in Guilderland Town Court. He was then sent to the Albany County Jail.

There’s no word on whether Smullen was pulled over for a traffic violation or whether he was already suspect of transporting the marijuana.
