Do you have plans to go out for on New Year's Eve? The City of Albany unveiled this year's plan to keep people safe and it could save you money too!

Sheriff Craig Apple shared on his personal Facebook page that along with partners Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, CDTA, Uber, Lyft, and Decrescente Distribution, they have kicked off the 34th Operation Safe Ride. Since its inception 34 years ago, there hasn't been an alcohol-related fatality on New Year's Eve as well as DWI's cut in half and they're hoping to continue that into 2019.

  • CDTA is offering free rides to all regular bus stops on New Year's Eve from 8:00 PM-2:00 AM
  • Lyft is offering a credit to new users with the code RIDESAFE518
  • Martin, Harding & Mazzotti is offering their free cab rides again by calling 1-800-LAW-1010
  • Uber is also offering a credit to new users with the code ALBANY20NYE

Before you get behind the wheel of a car intoxicated, remember all of the other lives you're putting in danger, not just your own! Utilize some of these options and stay safe into the new year!
