This is an exciting bit of news - especially for Albany High.  This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for a local marching band to play Irish tunes IN IRELAND

It takes a lot more than the luck of the Irish to be chosen to represent our country in the land of the blarney stone, but Albany High School did it, and we thought we should definitely congratulate them here.

According to the TimesUnion.com, the Albany Marching Falcons left last Saturday for Ireland and performed in the Dublin Street St. Patrick's Day Parade.  (If you click on this link, you can see a video.

If anyone was in that band, we'd love to know how the experience was?  If you would like to talk for a few minutes to us on the Sean, Richie and Bethany Show, please feel free to contact our producer, Dave.

Congrats to these fine musicians for getting this chance.  Doesn't this make you even more upset that there are some schools who try to solve budget problems by eliminating music programs?  Arrrrrgh!
