Albany Cup To Return To Times Union Center

The annual Siena and UAlbany hoops match-up will return to Albany this December.

According to CBS 6, the double header will take place at the Times Union Center Friday, December 17th. It will kick off at 5pm with the women's game, followed by the mens teams facing off.

The game this year took place on the UAlbany campus at the SEFCU Arena. Going back to the TU Center will allow more fans to attend, and CBS 6 says fans for each school will have equal access to tickets to keep the crowd fairly split.

I attended that last game at the TU Center in December of 2015, and it will be nice to see it back there with the increased capacity. I do remember hearing about a few unhappy fans after the move to SEFCU last season, and the move back to downtown seems like the right one. And downtown Albany just feels like the perfect spot for this game.

I am sure we are all looking forward to college hoops season coming back, but lets not rush through summer just yet!
