This month we recognize Albany County Sheriff James Alverson. Jim's doctor and friend, Heather, nominated him for being selfless, strong and an amazing dad to his three sons. Jim was in a bad car accident in his police cruiser and has been on the mend. Heather met him in the hospital where she was his wound doctor. Jim and her have become close friends and she says she admires his courage and always puts others ahead of him.

Jim is a very humble man, when we spoke with him, he talked about how he has lost thirteen law enforcement and military close friends who he calls the true heroes. Jim said his priority is raising his three boys to be great men. He is still recovering from his injuries but hopes to be back doing his duties as a sheriff very soon.
