They went to several Albany area stores and allegedly stole wallets from purses of shoppers, while one of the other people in the group would distract the shoppers by starting a conversation with them.

When the suspects were stopped in Clifton Park by New York State Troopers at a traffic stop, they were arrested. They allegedly had some of the stolen items with them at the traffic stop.

The four that were arrested are 47-year-old Kenyatta Miller, 23-year-old James Carter, 22-year-old Jennell Carr and 47-year-old Tracey Worley, all from Philadelphia.

In the article from the Times Union, some of the stolen items that were recovered were a checkbook, which was taken from the Clifton Park Dollar Tree store, a debit card that was used at the Albany Walmart Supercenter and other various credit and debit cards that were used at other Albany area stores.

The four were all charged with misdemeanor and felony counts of criminal possession of stolen property, and Worley had an additional criminal impersonation charge. They were remanded to the Saratoga County Jail after they were arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court. They’ll be back in court again at a later date.
