1999- Shania Twain becomes the first woman named songwriter and artist of the year in the Nashville Songwriter Achievement Awards. Phil Vassar wins Songwriter of the Year. The Song of the Year winner is a tie for both 'Holes In The Floor Of Heaven' by Steve Wariner and 'Don't Laugh At Me' by Mark Wills.

1994- Tracy Lawrence is at No. 1 with 'If The Good Die Young.'

1988- Eddie Rabbitt is rockin' away at the top of the Billboard Country charts with 'I Wanna Dance With You.'

1983- Alabama's 'Dixieland Delight' becomes their ninth No. 1 single.

1969- Johnny Cash tapes the first of his shows for his TV series on ABC.  The tapings take place at the Ryman Auditorium.
