A Rensselaer Man Is Arrested For DWI Related Incidents For The Fourth Time
A 35-year-old Rennselaer man was seen by a couple of East Greenbush Police officers, allegedly driving through a stop sign.
According to a press release from The East Greenbush Police Department, when they stopped Christopher A. Berhaupt, the driver, they detected alcohol. Berhaupt refused to take any field sobriety tests. Adding more problems to any DWI convictions, Berhaupt pushed the officers and tried to fight off being handcuffed. Once he was in the police car, Berhaupt allegedly tried to hurt himself, and was sent to Albany Medical Center, where he was seen and released.
Berhaupt was charged with Passing a Stop Sign, Felony DWI, Resisting Arrest, Breath Test Refusal, and others. He was arraigned in East Greenbush Town Court, and send to Rennselaer County Jail without bail. Berhaupt’s previous convictions were for Driving While Ability Impaired, and two more DWI convictions.
