Back in April, a South Glens Falls man came down to the Albany area, and drove to Rensselaer and East Greenbush. It wasn’t for a joy ride.

According to a press release from the East Greenbush Police Department, 54-year-old John T. Harris was allegedly driving a stolen Mustang and made stops at three different stores. That’s where Harris allegedly ran into each store, grabbed merchandise and then sped off. The three stores were Walmart, ZK Sunoco and The Columbia Street Xtra Mart, where he nearly struck an employee that tried to stop him.

After he left the Xtra Mart, he was caught and arrested by Rensselaer Police, who also also recovered the stolen merchandise from the stolen car. That’s when he was sent to Rensselaer County Jail, awaiting trial.

That trial just recently happened in East Greenbush Town Court on Thursday, September 5, 2013, where he was arraigned on Larceny counts in two of the East Greenbush stores.
