I can’t believe that this will be the 21st Countryfest.

Jake Owen will be our headliner on July 12 at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds.

WGNA has brought so many stars through the Albany area and we continue to do so. GNA’s Countryfest has such a great reputation that many country artists have actually requested to play at our shows.

The first GNA Countryfest was at the Altamont Fairgrounds. Like any event, there were several bugs to be worked out. No one knew what to expect. There was a lot of confusion and chaos, but when all was said and done, it ended up being a very successful event. Obviously we did something right because we’re still doing it.

The first GNA Countryfest didn’t go off without some glitches. One happened right at the beginning. The first act to play was David Ball. He had a hit called ‘Thinkin’ Problem’. (I’m sure Kevin Richards will be playing it on the GNA Sunday Morning Hall Of Fame Show). David started to sing. After about 20 seconds the music stopped. We had a power failure. You can imagine what we were all thinking. The people that took care of the electrical wiring had everything up and running again within a few minutes. The show continued after that with full power. It was quite the day.

I'm sure many memories will be made at GNA's Counrtyfest 2014 on Saturday July 12. If you've been to any Countryfests, what memories do you have?
