On the U.S.S. Slater in Albany, there was a ceremony to honor a highly decorated U.S. Navy veteran – Rear Admiral Paul John Czesak was recognized as people of Albany County took the time to pause to pay tribute to the Navy veteran. Rear Admiral Czesak received several metals , including the Korean Service Medal, China Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Medal, during his years of service.

In the story that I saw on CBS 6 Albany, a fallen veteran is recognized by the Albany County Honor-A-Vet Committee, on the first Monday of every month. Rear Admiral Czesak was honored on Tuesday due to the holiday on Monday.
