Now that the warm weather is here, I am sure you are getting the urge to explore the outdoors. Nothing is more breathtaking than a beautiful waterfall.

In New York, we have lots of 'em all over the state. Some are great for swimming, some are great to just stare at, and some may involve a satisfying hike to see them. Since I know you are well aware of Niagara Falls (everyone should visit!) here are 4 other waterfalls in our great state you should check out:

Watkins Glen

About 3.5 hours from Albany, Watkins Glen State Park features 19 waterfalls along Glen Creek. According to the Watkins Glen website 'The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade.' Sounds amazing!

Lucifer Falls

A little closer to Albany, in Ithaca, is Lucifer Falls at Robert H. Treman State Park. This is a beautiful 115 waterfall that runs down a wooded gorge. If you want to do a little swimming, this park also has a swimming area with lifeguards beneath the waterfall.

High Falls Gorge

If you visit the High Falls Gorge website, they dub the waterfall the 'Adirondacks Most Breathtaking 30 Minute Walk.' Looking at the photo above, you can see why. Not too far from Lake Placid, the Gorge features 4 waterfalls falling over granite cliffs. As you can see, quite spectacular!

Thatcher State Park

A little closer to home, Thatcher State Park in Voorheesville is only a short drive from Albany. Not only does this park feature waterfalls, but if you are up for a little hike up the Helderberg Escarpment you can take in some breathtaking views of the Albany skyline and the Adirondack and Green Mountains.

There you have it -- 4 great waterfalls besides Niagara to plan some trips as you get out and about this Spring! And if these don't cut it, there is always Niagara Falls! :)
