A mail carrier who was on Plymouth Avenue in Schenectady about 2:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, was attacked and bitten numerous times by two pit bulls.

The Schenectady Police and Fire Departments responded to the call. After the Schenectady Fire Department treated the postal carrier for his injuries at the scene, they sent him to Ellis Hospital by ambulance, for further treatment.

According to the story from News 10 ABC, it was determined by Schenectady Police the owner of the pit bulls is Danielle Monty, who was issued Unlicensed Dog summonses. Animal control seized the two dogs. An investigation is continuing. It’s possible Monty may be facing more charges at the end of the investigation.

There's no word on the mail carrier's condition or what will happen to the two dogs.
