A call from an Albany area used car dealer made to the East Greenbush Police Department and investigators from the New York State Department Of Motor Vehicles, lead to the arrest of two Albany men. In a press release from the East Greenbush Police Department, a sales representative from the Michael’s Auto Group thought that something didn’t seem right with the documents that the two men presented for loans to purchase a couple of cars. Registered car dealers are required to notify the Department Of Motor Vehicles when they encounter altered or erroneous identification from a prospective car buyer.

62-year-old Prather Jones, Jr. and 44-year-old Travis A. Handler were both charged with Identity Theft, Possession Of A Forged Instrument and Conspiracy. They were both arraigned in Rensselaer City Court and then remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail.
