17 Year Old Troy Youth Charged With Murdering Her Father

Courtesy of Flickr user Tony Webster

This story is shocking to say the least. When I saw the headline it was not what I expected once I dug deeper into this alleged murder in the city of Troy. 17-year-old Trinity Copeland shot her father in a weird twist of events that began because he allegedly was very mad at her for using his ATM card. The father and victim 47-year-old Harland Copeland was reportedly drinking and told his daughter he was so mad over the ATM card use that he was going to kill her and then kill himself.

He then told her to take the gun he had and to shoot him because if she didn’t he was definitely to kill her. The daughter eventually did shoot him and he was pronounced dead at the when when authorities arrived. The full details are here.
