As many of you know I am a huge wrestling fan. Been watching since i was child. So realizing that one of the biggest things to ever happen in pro wrestling happened 15 years ago today made me feel kind of old. I didn't realize this much time had passed.

It all went down on July 7th, 1996 at WCW's Bash at the Beach. It was the day that one of my favorite wrestlers growing up Hulk Hogan became a bad guy and started the infamous NWO.

Even though Hogan had played a Heel (bad guy) early in his career, most remember him as the American Hero who told all the kids to "Train, Say your prayers and eat your Vitamins". He had been doing that character since the early 80's so the fact that he was bashing the fans was just a huge shock. This also started the NWO angle which helped WCW Monday Nitro beat WWF's Monday Night Raw in the ratings for a couple of years which was chronicled at the Monday Night Wars.

Being the wrestling fan that I am I love to reminisce about all the classic things that have happened. This goes down as one of the biggest of all time. It's still just hard to believe that it was 15 years ago. My how time flies. It makes me wish they could do something like this now because wrestling has become quite stale over the last few years with only a few flashes of brilliance lately like the return of the Rock and CM Punk's Brilliant "Shoot Promo" the other night.
